## Summary

The procurement process for the contract titled "Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Service - East Surrey - CAN" was conducted by NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board. The contract falls within the medical imaging services industry category and covers the East Surrey locality. The process used a Direct Award Procedure C, under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This service aims to provide community-based direct access ultrasound, enhancing early diagnosis and reducing unnecessary referrals. The contract is valued at £580,000 over a two-year term, active from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028. Approval for this award was given by the Surrey and Sussex ICB Executive Committee in May 2026, with direct awards having been fully endorsed by the relevant committees. The procurement method was a limited procedure, specifically bypassing the need for prior publication of a competition call.

This tender offers significant opportunities for business growth by providing a platform for companies specializing in healthcare services to demonstrate their excellence and commitment to quality and innovation. It is particularly suited to businesses capable of providing high-standard diagnostic ultrasound services with regulatory accreditations and a focus on patient-centred care. Companies that can efficiently maximise funding utilisation, thereby delivering value to the local health system and community, would be prime contenders. The tender's focus on integrating services close to patients' homes also highlights opportunities for businesses that can collaborate with local healthcare systems to enhance access and reduce health inequalities, offering both economic and social value to the community.
