## Summary

The Department for Education is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the next phase of the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE). This initiative, focusing on the delivery, design, and development of computing education through various professional development and support services, is of a national scope, and will be implemented primarily online across the UK. The procurement process, valued at approximately £12 million excluding VAT, falls under education and training services. The Department will hold a virtual market engagement event in late September or early October 2026 to present the project to potential suppliers, and ensure interested parties register on the Jaggaer e-procurement portal to partake in the process. The contract period is anticipated to start from 27th September 2027 and conclude by 26th September 2030, with potential extensions to 2032.

This tender opens significant business growth opportunities, especially for SMEs and VCSEs capable of delivering educational and training services. Companies with expertise in computing education, professional development programmes, or digital services will find this procurement particularly attractive. Participation in the market engagement event will allow suppliers to gain insights into the procurement requirements and timelines, shape the final tender through feedback, and position themselves strategically for upcoming bidding opportunities. Engaging with this project could not only enhance a company's portfolio in digital education initiatives but also build a professional relationship with a major public authority within the UK government.
