## Summary

Cambridge City Council is conducting an open tender for the "Abbey Sport Field Access Improvements" project, which involves the design and construction of a new bowling pavilion at the Abbey Leisure Complex located in the north east of Cambridge. The procurement, which falls under the construction work for sports facilities industry category, is in the tender stage with key dates such as the tender period ending on 9th September 2026, and the contract period running from 12th October 2026 to 12th December 2026. Valued at £60,000, the opportunity invites bids through an open competition method and encourages electronic submissions. Interested parties should note the limited access to the site and plan for minimal disruption to existing sports facilities and pathways.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in construction work for leisure and sports facilities, particularly those experienced in projects requiring comprehensive design and construction expertise. Companies adept in managing logistical challenges such as narrow access routes and constrained urban settings will find this project aligns well with their capabilities. With quality criteria weighted at 60% and price at 40%, businesses offering high-quality construction solutions at competitive prices stand a strong chance of success. Small to medium enterprises with a focus on innovative groundworks and sustainable construction methods may find this tender particularly beneficial for growth and portfolio expansion in the public sector.
