Treatment is based on a plan of care, developed prior to admission, by community drug and alcohol recovery services and should encompass relevant preparatory work and a seamless transition to on-going treatment after discharge. The treatment provided by the service is: * individually tailored (and reflects care needs based on co-morbidities) * flexible * able to make use of a menu of pharmacological, psychological and social interventions * specific to mental and substance-related disorders
