## Summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is procuring specialist suicide bereavement support services across its full geographical area in South Wales, covering the health board’s communities in Gwent. The service is for people of any age affected by the death by suicide of someone aged 26 or over. It is intended to provide accessible, timely and person-centred support through a strong face-to-face offer. Required delivery includes community-based appointments, suitable home visits, peer support groups, and attendance at relevant community events. This is a health service requiring providers to support individuals and communities affected by suicide bereavement, with community engagement and direct work forming central parts of the requirement.

The procurement reached tender: the buyer invited written offers through the Most Suitable Provider Process under the Welsh health services provider selection regime, using an open procedure. The tender submission deadline was 11 September 2026 at 17:00, following an amendment changing the original deadline. Bids were to remain valid until 10 September 2026 at 23:59. The proposed contract period is 1 October 2026 to 1 October 2030. The estimated value is £250,000. There is one lot, and evaluation is based on price. The award period was scheduled to start on 11 September 2026 at 12:00, with bid opening at the same time. A fee applies for accessing documents.

This opportunity suits specialist bereavement, suicide-postvention, mental health or community support providers able to deliver person-centred services across a wide health-board area. Strong capability in face-to-face support is important, including community appointments, appropriate home visiting, peer-led or peer-supported groups, and engagement with local community events. Providers should have the operational capacity to offer accessible and timely support to people of different ages and to work with communities affected by suicide bereavement. Relevant clinical, safeguarding, community development and partnership-working experience would be well aligned with the requirement. The service also suits organisations able to maintain consistent delivery over a multi-year period and demonstrate the capacity to meet the required standard.
