The service would support people to safely reduce or stop their substance use where clinically appropriate, as part of a wider treatment and recovery pathway. The council currently commissions specialist inpatient detoxification and is examining future provision, including medically monitored detoxification and community-based treatment models. This is a health service procurement, with delivery for residents of Leicester. The scope includes understanding how different models could work, their benefits and limitations, and suitable delivery approaches.
