The project is intended to address groundwater and drainage problems in a saturated section of cliff, including installation of an outfall and horizontal drainage into the cliff face. The works are expected to include a partial cliff regrade, non-vibratory sheet piling, replacement of the existing tumble-brick wall with a sheet-pile retaining wall and reconstruction of a low-level retaining wall. Associated works include resurfacing pedestrian footpaths along the cliff frontage. This is a construction and civil engineering project, with delivery in the Clacton-on-Sea area. Tendring District Council is the public-sector buyer. The council has identified the requirement as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting potential SME participation or specialist subcontracting. ## Notice Tendring District Council is undertaking a market engagement exercise to inform the potential future procurement of drainage works and installation of an outfall within a saturated area of cliff at Alton Road in Clacton. Works will also include a partial regrade of the cliff and the installation of a sheet pile retaining wall in lieu of the current tumble brick wall.
