## Summary

London and South East University Group is procuring education and training services for a pilot programme of employer-led virtual internships during the 2026/27 academic year. The aim is to widen access to meaningful work experience and improve graduate employability for students who may face barriers to traditional internships. The requirement is divided into four service models: internships embedded in academic programmes with in-person activity; fully online internships embedded in academic programmes; co-curricular internships based on small-group employer projects; and co-curricular internships based on individual employer projects. All models involve authentic projects for external employers, with varying requirements for employer interaction, supervision, support and feedback. Delivery is in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, for students across different subject disciplines.

The procurement has reached tender: the buyer invited offers through an open procedure. Enquiries had to be submitted by 28 September 2026 at 12:00, and bids by 5 October 2026 at 12:00. The buyer intended to finalise the award by 16 November 2026. Each lot has an initial contract period from 7 December 2026 to 6 August 2027, with a possible single extension of up to eight months, no later than 5 April 2028. The overall estimated value is £333,333.33 excluding VAT and £400,000 including VAT. Each lot is valued at £83,333.33 or £83,333.34 excluding VAT and £100,000 including VAT. Quality carries 70% and cost 30%. Bids may cover one or multiple lots and are submitted electronically in English through the specified portal.

This opportunity suits organisations that design and deliver employer-led internships, employability programmes or higher-education work-based learning. Relevant capability includes creating authentic projects for external employers and coordinating meaningful employer engagement, supervision and feedback. Providers should be able to support internships embedded within academic programmes across different disciplines, including a model with a substantial in-person element and a fully online model that can operate at scale. Other suitable expertise includes facilitating small-group projects, supporting collaborative working and project completion, or managing individual student projects with named employer supervisors and developmental feedback. The requirement also favours providers able to combine structured student support with practical delivery for both curriculum-based and co-curricular experiences.

## Notice

This opportunity is for the delivery of a pilot programme of employer-led virtual internships during the 2026/27 academic year. The pilot forms part of the University's strategic commitment to improving graduate employability through widening access to high-quality work experience. The University recognises that many students face barriers to accessing traditional internships due to financial constraints, caring responsibilities, disability, geographical location and other personal circumstances. Internships offer an opportunity to remove many of these barriers whilst providing meaningful engagement with employers and authentic workplace experience.
