## Summary

The National Maritime Museum is procuring an audio-visual hardware contractor for a suite of new Royal Observatory Greenwich exhibitions under the ROG First Light Project. The work covers the north and south parts of the Royal Observatory Greenwich site in London. The contractor will supply and install exhibition audio-visual equipment and systems, develop and install its Contractor Design Portion, and provide coordinated drawings. It must work with the OPOE and OPITU Setworks Principal Contractors during offsite and onsite periods, and coordinate with other client-direct packages including Digital Media. This is an exhibition audio-visual installation and design service, classified as museum-exhibition services. The requirement is a single service lot and is identified as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The procurement has reached tender: shortlisted contractors from the prior pre-selection questionnaire stage were invited to submit offers. It uses a selective, two-stage competitive flexible procedure, with electronic submission allowed in English. Expressions of interest are due by 12:00 on 12 October 2026, and enquiries close at 17:00 on 28 September 2026. The estimated contract value is £1,050,000 excluding VAT, or £1,260,000 including VAT. The contract is scheduled to run from 1 June 2027 to 14 August 2028, with the award period ending on 1 June 2027 at 23:59. Offers will be evaluated on 60% technical quality and 40% commercial considerations.

This opportunity suits an audio-visual systems contractor experienced in exhibition delivery, equipment supply and installation, and contractor-led design. Bidders will need to produce coordinated technical drawings and manage interfaces with principal contractors, setworks packages and client-direct digital media work. The requirement calls for delivery across both offsite and onsite periods, so suppliers should be able to plan installation activities, coordinate multiple workstreams and operate effectively within a live project team. Experience delivering audio-visual hardware and systems for museum or exhibition environments is directly relevant. The procurement is expressly suitable for SMEs, making it potentially accessible to a capable specialist contractor with sufficient design, project-management, installation and coordination capacity, either independently or through an appropriate delivery team.
