## Summary

NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board is seeking market feedback on a future integrated Occupational Health and Employee Assistance Programme for its workforce. The planned service would combine core occupational health with employee assistance and psychological support, mental health and psychological wellbeing, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and prevention, health and wellbeing support, digital access and data, attendance and organisational support, and equality, inclusion and access. It is intended to improve employee health, wellbeing, attendance and productivity while providing confidential, equitable and evidence-based support. The work would support NHS staff across England, from the North East and North Cumbria to the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, the Midlands, East of England, London, the South East and the South West. The procurement category is health services.

This process is at the planning stage and is a Request for Information market-engagement exercise, not a call for competition or a pre-qualification process. The buyer expects any future opportunity to be subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The indicative value is £75,000 including the currency stated in the notice. Suppliers wishing to contribute to this exercise should submit the online questionnaire by 5pm on 23 September 2026 through the Atamis portal. The buyer’s indicative date for a future notice is 1 January 2027. Any future contract would seek compliance with statutory, professional, clinical-governance and information-governance requirements, alongside a sustainable and value-for-money service model.

This exercise will suit occupational health providers, employee assistance and psychological-support organisations, and integrated healthcare suppliers able to combine these capabilities in one service model. Relevant strengths include clinical assessment and advice, mental-health and wellbeing support, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, prevention, attendance management and organisational support. Providers should be able to give managers and HR clear, practical clinical advice while maintaining timely, confidential and equitable access for employees. The buyer is also looking for reliable workforce-health intelligence, digital service access and data capability, and a service that supports equality and inclusion. Suppliers should be prepared to demonstrate how their delivery would meet applicable statutory, professional, clinical-governance and information-governance obligations. This is an opportunity to inform future service design, not to bid for a contract now.
