The discovery work is intended to define the scope and feasibility of the requirement, and to understand the range of solutions available. The core requirement is education-focused software, classified as software packages and industry-specific software systems, with associated services. The system and services would support the Council’s education functions in North Yorkshire. Suppliers able to provide an education case management platform, configure and implement it, and provide ongoing technical support and maintenance will be relevant. The Council is considering the full range of potential solutions before deciding the scope and approach of any subsequent procurement. This procurement is at the planning stage and is currently a market-discovery exercise, not an invitation to tender. North Yorkshire Council expects to use one-to-one discovery sessions and requests for information to shape its requirements, procurement procedure, participation conditions and evaluation criteria. The Council’s indicative date for a future notice is 5 April 2027. It expects the resulting contract to run from 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2032, with renewal possible until 30 June 2034. The Council is specifically seeking evidence about available solutions, feasibility and the supplier market to inform its future tender. ## Notice North Yorkshire Council is seeking to invite suppliers to undertake discovery to help determine the scope and feasibility of its requirement, to understand the range of potential solutions available in the market, and to inform any potential future procurement exercise for an education case management system, including support, maintenance and implementation services.
