The intended service would support identification and reporting of infectious disease cases; detection and assessment of exposure; contact notification; outbreak and transmission investigation; public health advice and behavioural interventions; isolation and quarantine management; and monitoring of compliance, outcomes and intervention effectiveness. It would also collect, analyse, link and enrich data to support situational awareness and public health decisions, including testing, treatment and related administration. The technology should interoperate smoothly with existing local and national public health systems and remain scalable and flexible for future health threats. This is a software programming and consultancy service. This procurement is at the planning stage and is currently a request for information, not an invitation to tender. The buyer expects market engagement responses by 2 October 2026, following publication on 18 September 2026. The planned service period is 1 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. The procurement is planned as one lot, using a services category and an open tender procedure under the UK Procurement Act 2023. The published value is £1 gross in GBP. This appears alongside the market-engagement exercise rather than representing a substantive contract budget. The buyer is using the engagement to understand supplier capability and inform a future procurement for digital case and contact management, infection surveillance and response technology.
