Grounds Maintenance Contractor based within 10 mile radius of Basingstoke required by Old Basing & Lychpit Parish Council to manage the upkeep of the Parish Council's land consisting of two children's play areas and adult exercise equipment, sports and general recreation fields, Cemetery & Garden of Remembrance, Allotments, car parks and National Heritage site in addition to sports pitches including Archery, Bowls, Cricket and Football. The contractor must provide evidence of having prior experience and specialist knowledge of maintenance of a heritage site, bowling greens and cricket pitches and have a proven track record of a high level of customer satisfaction. The contractor must also demonstrate the ability to be responsive and flexible in its approach to tasks and particularly in dealing with those clubs that use the facilities. Works as set out in the Maintenance Schedule to be provided on application will include grass and hedge cutting, maintenance of grass borders, upkeep of the Cemetery, Garden of Remembrance and Allotments and seasonal maintenance and treatment of the sports pitches. Attendance on site for certain sports and other events, which will include weekends, is also required. The contract will be for an initial 5 year period and, subject to satisfactory results, will include an option to extend for a further 2 years. Suitable interested parties will be provided with an Invitation to Tender and Grounds Maintenance Schedule and site maps on application.

Options: The contract includes the option for additional grounds maintenance services during the 5-year contract period (1 April 2027 - 31 March 2032) and any associated extension. The Parish Council may request additional cuts of grass, strimming, hedge trimming, or pitch lining beyond the standard schedule of cuts per year per area, depending on grass growth, weather conditions, or specific parish requirements. These additional services will be ordered as required and priced according to the rates submitted in the tender for "single cuts" or individual works. The contractor is expected to be flexible in accommodating such additional requests and respond promptly to instructions from the Parish Council. Additional cuts or works will be authorised in writing by the Parish Council before being undertaken. The option does not guarantee that extra services will be required, but it allows the Parish Council to maintain high-quality grounds maintenance throughout the contract period without issuing a separate procurement.
