This opportunity suits heating and mechanical-services contractors able to replace commercial gas-fired boiler plant and associated equipment in an existing building. Relevant capability includes installing communal boilers and pumps in a basement plantroom, integrating them with existing domestic hot-water and heating systems, and working with storage calorifiers, expansion vessels, controls and a flue routed through an existing chimney to roof level. Below threshold procurement - by invitation only. Due to the urgent on-site need for these works, we are only inviting bids from suppliers who are on-boarded to both the Central Digital Platform and our own finance system, Symphony. This is intended to avoid delaying the delivery of the works, as the on-boarding process can take some time. Only those invited suppliers will be asked to attend a site open day, and only submissions from those invited will be evaluated. All others will be disregarded, not opened or evaluated. This project consists of the replacement of the existing central heating boiler plant and equipment at Army Reserve Centre, St Albans Rd., Barnet EN5 4JX. Barnet Army Reserve Centre is a drill hall and associated amenities currently used by 118 Close Support Company and 240 Transport Squadron in St Albans Rd., Barnet. The building was designed and completed in 1937. The complex was used continuously by reserve and transport units since World War II. The existing boiler installation was undertaken in the early 2000's. There is a main plantroom room in the basement that provides domestic hot water and heating to all the facilities in Barnet Army Reserve Centre. Cold water storage tanks on the roof provide a cold water supply to the bathrooms and to the hot water calorifiers. The existing plant consists of 3 No. Ideal Commercial Concord CXA 120 gas fired boilers, 2 No. hot water storage calorifiers fed from the heating system, associated pumps, expansion vessels and controls. The boiler flue routes through an existing chimney to discharge at roof level. New communal boilers and replacement pumps are to be provided in the basement plantroom.
