## Summary

Dorset Police is planning a regional contract for maintenance, servicing, repair and calibration of garage equipment used in the police forces’ in-house fleet vehicle workshops. The procurement also covers Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. The five police forces involved are Avon and Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall, and Dorset; Devon and Cornwall Police will manage the tendering process and contract on their behalf. The work combines workshop equipment support with technical inspection and testing, including calibration and repair of electrical machinery and associated equipment. The regional coverage and participation of five police forces plus a fire and rescue service will suit businesses able to support workshop operations across multiple public-sector organisations and locations. Suppliers can prepare to explain their proposed service to regional stakeholders and answer questions about delivery; the buyer also anticipates that some suppliers may be invited to visit force workshops. Initial engagement is an opportunity to present service approaches and inform understanding ahead of the later tender, rather than to submit a bid at this stage.
