The requirement is intended to support both reactive maintenance and planned refurbishment works. The current arrangements require individual works to be procured separately, which can result in additional procurement activity, delays and resource requirements. The intention is to appoint a specialist provider rather than a general facilities management provider or intermediary, to ensure the required technical expertise is available directly through the contract and to minimise unnecessary additional management arrangements.
