Failure to replace equipment when required could result in defects within the fire alarm system remaining unresolved and could affect the reliability of the site's fire detection. The requirement therefore supports the continued operation and maintenance of the site's life-safety systems in order to meet its fire safety and health and safety responsibilities.",
