Mental health is a broad area, but the importance of effective mental health crisis support for children and young people has been outlined in both the 'Mental health and wellbeing strategy 2025 to 2035', and the 'Suicide prevention and self-harm: strategy and delivery plan' for Wales. Across the 6 Local Authorities and in the Health Board (Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board) in North Wales we have seen an increase in volume of referrals but also the complexity due to the trauma that children and young people have experienced.
