The solution must take approved rail industry data, process it and produce BSL translations that can be displayed through digital channels, at station screens and on board trains. This is a specialist passenger-information and technology service, classified under railway transport support services. The service is intended for National Rail Enquiries channels and for screen-based passenger information across the rail network. The requirement brings together access to industry data, data processing and the delivery of usable BSL translations across several types of display. The work also includes the technical solution needed to provide these translations through the specified customer-facing channels. The buyer also seeks confirmation that its intended implementation timetable is achievable. ## Notice RDG is looking to secure a supplier to deliver a National Rail British Sign Language solution that can consume approved industry data sources, process them and provide a BSL translation that the system's users can display on their digital channels, in station screens, and onboard screens. RDG is looking to put in place a contract for 1 year, with the intention of extending the contract for a further 2 years (1+1) upon funding confirmation. The contract value for this tender covers both the Capex and Opex amounts. RDG is aiming to have the solution in place for implementation on the National Rail Enquiries channels by the 30th September 2027; however, bidders must indicate whether this timeline is suitable in their responses.
