## Summary

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) plans to appoint a specialist supplier for mechanical engineering and associated services, including repair and maintenance of mechanical building installations. Work will be ordered through call-off task orders and is intended to support asset reliability and value for money across operational scientific environments. The contract will principally cover Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire, The Cosener’s House in Abingdon and the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell. Companies wishing to attend were asked to register by 6 November 2026, with no more than two representatives per company. The procurement is planned as a single lot; UKRI has not set out the procedure or evaluation basis at this stage.

This requirement is suited to specialist mechanical engineering and building-services contractors with the capacity to respond to call-off tasks across several operational research sites. Suppliers should be prepared to work safely alongside the buyer’s in-house teams in scientific environments, while maintaining the reliability of mechanical assets and delivering value for money.
