## Summary

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is seeking custom phosphoramidite and succinate materials, classified as organic chemicals and chemical reagents, for research and development. The materials will support installation and operation of pilot-scale equipment for oligonucleotide manufacturing using a novel process, as part of the GC3 project at the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre. Required supply sizes range from 10g to 1kg. CPI is a UK technology innovation centre and part of the Government’s High Value Manufacturing Catapult; its work combines applied science and engineering with facilities for developing, proving, prototyping and scaling products and processes. The delivery location is the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre site. The requirement is for goods rather than services or construction work.

CPI invited offers through a below-threshold open competition. The process reached tender, with bids submitted electronically through the buyer’s tendering website. The enquiry deadline was 12 noon on 9 November 2026, and the bid deadline was 12 noon on 16 November 2026. The single lot has a contract period from 24 December 2026 to 23 December 2029. The estimated value is £173,000 excluding VAT (£207,600 including VAT). CPI intends to establish a multi-supplier framework, ranking suppliers by their evaluation scores and reserving the right to award work directly without reopening competition. Evaluation is based on quality and service (60%) and price (40%), combined into a score out of 100%.

This opportunity suits suppliers able to develop or source and reliably supply bespoke phosphoramidite and succinate materials for research and development. Bidders should be equipped to meet demand across small-scale quantities, from 10g up to 1kg, and to support a specialist pilot-scale oligonucleotide manufacturing process. The requirement is relevant to chemical manufacturers, reagent suppliers and firms with custom synthesis capability, particularly those experienced in supplying materials for scientific or medicines-manufacturing development. Quality and service carry greater weight than price in evaluation, so a competitive offer will need to demonstrate dependable supply and a strong service response alongside value. Framework suppliers will be ranked according to their evaluation scores; CPI may make direct awards without a further competition.

## Notice

CPI is a UK technology innovation centre and the process element of the Government's High Value Manufacturing Catapult. We use applied knowledge in science and engineering combined with state-of-the-art facilities to enable our clients to develop, prove, prototype and scale-up the next generation of products and processes. CPI is installing equipment for the pilot scale manufacturing of oligonucleotides via a novel process at Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) site for the GC3 project. To support this work, we are seeking reliable suppliers capable of supplying custom phosphoramidite and succinate materials, for research and development use, on a scale of 10g to 1kg.
