## Summary

City & County of Swansea is procuring the design, supply, installation, commissioning and programming of permanent architectural lighting for Swansea Amphitheatre. The scheme is intended to improve the venue’s appearance, identity and visitor experience, highlighting its architectural features while fitting the surrounding environment and minimising light spill. This is a lighting and electrical works requirement, with associated architectural and engineering design. The work will be delivered at Swansea Amphitheatre in Swansea.

The buyer invited tenders through an open competition. The contract covers one lot, with a planned period from 27 November 2026 to 30 April 2027. The estimated value is £25,000 excluding VAT (£30,000 including VAT). The deadline for clarification enquiries was 13 November 2026 at 12:00, and the tender submission deadline was 20 November 2026 at 12:00. Evaluation is weighted 60% on price and 40% on quality. Quality assessment comprises three method statements weighted at 20%, 10% and 10%; price assessment covers the pricing schedule and compensation events. The opportunity is identified as suitable for small and medium-sized businesses.

This requirement suits lighting contractors able to deliver a permanent architectural lighting installation end to end, including design, equipment supply, installation, commissioning and programming. Relevant experience should include illuminating buildings or public venues in a way that draws attention to architectural features while controlling light spill and considering the surrounding environment. Suppliers will need to demonstrate a credible approach through three quality method statements, alongside a clear pricing schedule and treatment of compensation events. The SME suitability indicator makes this a potential fit for smaller specialist contractors as well as larger firms with the relevant design and delivery capability. The scope combines electrical installation with architectural lighting design, so businesses able to coordinate both aspects are well placed to respond.

## Notice

Swansea Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced lighting contractors for the design, supply, installation, commissioning and programming of a permanent architectural lighting scheme for the Swansea Amphitheatre. The objective of the project is to enhance the visual appearance, identity and visitor experience of the amphitheatre through high-quality, energy-efficient architectural lighting. The lighting installation should accentuate key architectural features of the structure while remaining sympathetic to the surrounding environment and minimising light spill.
