## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, has completed a tender process for the "Student Award System" in the health industry category. The procurement method used was a limited award procedure without prior publication, to maintain uninterrupted services due to unforeseen circumstances. The system will be extended for 12 months with a competitive tender exercise planned before March 2023, involving stakeholders such as students, HEIs, and the Welsh Government.

This tender provides business growth opportunities for companies capable of developing and providing software solutions in the healthcare sector. The procurement process, at the award stage, aims to enhance the bursary application experience for healthcare students by implementing functional requirements aligned with Welsh Government policies. Businesses proficient in delivering cloud-based solutions compatible with Microsoft 365, with capabilities in digital dashboards, AI chatbots, and complying with language standards, could be well-suited to compete and contribute to this initiative.

This will allow further work to be carried out on the development of additional functional requirements to meet all stakeholder requirements and adhere to Welsh Government guidance policies within the contract period.
