The kits are specific to the Terumo BCT machines already installed within the Health Board. To change these machines would be at an extra cost to the Health Board at present which is not viable and during the current climate the Health Board cannot disrupt blood services. The machine can handle 48 samles at a time and is the only large volume blood extractor that is in the laboratory.
