## Summary

The Hywel Dda University Health Board has recently completed a procurement process for the installation of additional treatment spaces at Glangwili Emergency Department and Amman Valley Hospital. This project aims to enhance patient care by converting an existing play area into treatment space for three patients at Glangwili and creating three additional consultation rooms for the Ophthalmology team at Amman Valley. The project, classified under the health industry, was undertaken using a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition, with a key completion deadline set for 31st March 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction and healthcare infrastructure. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) like T Richard Jones (Betws) Ltd, which secured the contract, are well-positioned to compete for similar projects requiring specialised knowledge in healthcare-related works. Businesses focused on delivering public health facilities and adaptive construction services may find this sector increasingly lucrative as organisations prioritise improving healthcare capacity in response to growing patient demands post-COVID-19.
