These places are offered in Local Authority (maintained) schools, or by Registered Education Providers, also called Non-Maintained Settings (NMS).The Council has established an approved list of registered education providers for the provision of early year's education (pre-school) places within Newport but now specifically requires providers in the areas of Lliswerry and Ringland to meet demand. The Council therefore invites providers operating in these areas to be appointed to the list through a compliant accreditation process.Non-maintained settings can be English or Welsh medium in Ringland and Welsh medium in Lliswerry that provide nursery education places which follow the Foundation Phase curriculum.Appointment to the approved list for the areas of Lliswerry and Ringland will be for a two year period with an option to extend for one year. It should be noted that the extension will only be given subject to satisfactory review of all providers appointed.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
