HEIW has a leading role in the education, training, development and shaping of the healthcare workforce in Wales, ensuring NHS Wales have the right staff, with the right skills, to deliver world-class healthcare to the people of Wales both now and in the future. One of the strategic objectives of HEIW is to purchase and rollout a centralized learning management system (LMS) with associated virtual learning environment (VLE)/digital learning platform and course/event booking facility which will facilitate the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of all educational events developed by HEIW. This work aligns with the Workforce Strategy theme 5 (Excellent Education and Learning). The system will have the long-term potential to be available to all health and social care professionals in Wales and will provide a range of flexible and innovative learning opportunities using the most up-to-date digital resources available via mobile devices. The contract is for a three year agreement with an option to extend for a further one year period.
