It is a heritage that we are immensely proud of, since the 1895 Rugby League has welcomed players of all ethnicities and backgrounds. These players include Clive Sullivan who was the first ever black player to captain a national team in Great Britain, Roy Francis, Colin Dixon and Billy Boston. We also signed the first openly gay professional player in Gareth Thomas. We currently run Men, Women's, boys, girls, Masters, Wheelchair, Physical Disability and Learning Disability Rugby League teams.The Strategy of Wales Rugby League is:"To make Rugby League accessible to everyone in Walesthrough a Lifelong Participation in the Sport"2022 World Cup OpportunitiesMen, Wheelchair and Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL)2022 is an exciting year for Wales Rugby League with 3 teams (Men's, Wheelchair and Physical Disability) participating in a World Cup in October/November 2022 which will be broadcast to a global audience of 20 million, all games will be televised on BBC and an estimated 120 plus broadcast markets.
