## Summary

The procurement process involves Keep Wales Tidy as the buying organisation, seeking bids for the "Fly-Tipping Litter Campaign Research Project." This project falls under the services industry category and is related to initiatives aimed at tackling fly-tipping through extensive research into waste management behaviours, especially among social housing and university tenants. The process is currently in the award stage following a public tender process which ended on 25 March 2022. The contract has an active award value of £12,000 and was signed on 28 March 2022. The tender focused on using robust research techniques to gather insights into waste management practices and tenant demographics in Wales.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specialising in social research services and survey analysis to expand their portfolio and engage with public sector projects. Companies that focus on environmental issues, urban studies, or waste management solutions would be particularly well-suited for such initiatives. By participating in this type of research project, businesses can showcase their expertise while contributing to significant community and environmental improvements in Wales.

## Notice

As part of the Caru Cymru project, Keep Wales Tidy is developing a national campaign to tackle fly-tipping.The aim is work with tenants of social housing (particularly areas which have communal bin stores such as flats and high density housing) and student tenants of HMO's around universities to identify hotspots and develop messaging and interventions targeting tenants. To date, there has been limited research into waste management in Welsh HMOs, particularly from the perspective of tenants.Using robust and in-depth research techniques, we want to gather insights into the factors informing waste management behaviours. We also want to gain a better understanding of the demographics of university and social housing tenants in Wales.
