## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is seeking to renew its contract for the provision of a Community Specialist Palliative Care Service across Cardiff North and West and Cardiff South and East. This procurement process is now complete, having been initiated with the intent to maintain essential health services in the community. The award of this contract, which amounts to £3,802,260 for a duration of five years (with a possible two-year extension), has been finalised with the City Hospice Trust Ltd. The contract was signed on 31st March 2022, following a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition due to existing negotiations with the current provider. Delivery will be undertaken primarily in the Cardiff region, specifically targeted to enhance health service coordination within the area.

This renewal presents valuable opportunities for businesses within the health service sector, particularly those specialising in palliative care, community health services, and multidisciplinary team provision. Companies with capabilities in delivering high-quality, holistic patient care and expert symptom management will be well-positioned to engage in such tenders. Given the tender's structured approach to service provision, it is particularly suited for larger providers with established portfolios in community health and complex care pathways, enabling them to respond effectively to community health needs while potentially contributing to better patient outcomes.
