The requirement to use sustainable, low carbon materials wherever possible is central to the project, we want an exemplar in low carbon build techniques and material e.g. sheep's wool-based product for insulation and sustainably sourced timber for construction and/or cladding, ensuring that they blend naturally with M-SParc's current design and ethos. The chosen company would need to demonstrate carbon credentials for the material, for example FSC for timber(https://uk.fsc.org/what-is-fsc). As our science park has evolved over the last four years, two of which have been during the Covid-19 pandemic, we strongly feel that there is more demand for outdoor working office space for our tenants and we wish to maintain our unrivalled agile working environment, unique to the region that sets us apart.
