Similarly, monitoring the presence of ketones in the blood is also important as high levels can result in complications such as Ketoacidosis. This notice is to extend the current arrangement with Abbott Laboratories Ltd whilst a competitive tender is undertaken. ### Procurement Information The contract with Abbott Laboratories Ltd ended on 30th September 2021. A 12 month agreement was sought to allow sufficient time for NWSSP Procurement Services to undertake a competitive procurement however, due to various factors it has not been possible to complete this therefore an additional 6 months plus 6 months extension period has been sought. The Health Board cannot find a Public Sector Framework with which to engage with Abbott Laboratories Ltd at this time and therefore, there is no opportunity to make a compliant direct award.
