## Summary

The Welsh Government's Commercial Delivery division is initiating a tender for the supply, packing, and distribution of Baby Bundles in Wales. The proposed contract aims to provide between 25,000 to 35,000 bundles annually and is expected to run initially for two years, with a possible one-year extension. The procurement process is in the planning stage, with a virtual pre-market engagement event scheduled for 24th May 2023. The initiative seeks a single organisation or consortium to coordinate registration, source products, manage delivery, and ensure environmentally friendly practices in providing the bundles.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in goods supply, packaging, and distribution, especially those keen on social procurement and sustainability initiatives. Companies capable of managing complex logistics, meeting industry safety standards, and demonstrating robust supply chains would be well-suited to compete. The Welsh Government's focus on providing free Baby Bundles to new and expectant parents in Wales requires contractors to be ready to distribute bundles from February 2024, emphasising the need for efficient and reliable operations in the delivery of this essential service.
