## Summary

The Cardiff Council has awarded a contract for increasing emergency accommodation for single people to OYO Technology & Hospitality UK LTD. The procurement stage was completed under a limited procurement method with specific rationale based on extreme urgency. This service category contract had a total value of GBP 745,446.24 and was signed on 1st April 2023. The contract was initiated by Cardiff Council in response to statutory obligations under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, to provide accommodation, care, and support.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses to engage in providing essential services for emergency accommodation. Suppliers offering large-scale hospitality solutions would find this contract aligning well with their capabilities. The award procedure without prior publication allowed for the timely fulfilment of urgent needs, creating a specific niche for businesses capable of promptly responding to unforeseeable events. Businesses focusing on service-related categories within the housing and community amenities sector would be suitable contenders for similar future opportunities.
