## Summary

Partneriaeth Ogwen, located in Bangor, Gwynedd, has completed the award stage of its procurement process for the construction of the Yr Hen Bost Project. This project involves the development of a heritage centre, a sustainable business and retail hub, and a café in Bethesda. Grosvenor Construction Ltd has been chosen as the main contractor to lead this significant development. The procurement method was open, and the tender stage ran from 14 June 2024 to 12 July 2024. Planning consent was granted on 30 November 2023, with construction set to be completed by October 2025.

This tender presents considerable opportunities for businesses in the construction industry, particularly those experienced in heritage projects and sustainable building practices. Companies that can deliver high environmental standards and engage with local suppliers and subcontractors will be well-suited to compete. The use of local Penrhyn slate and traditional slate skills further enhances the attractiveness for businesses familiar with these materials and techniques. The project is supported by funding from the Westminster Government’s Levelling Up Fund and the Welsh Government Circular Economy Fund, ensuring financial backing for timely completion.
