## Summary

The Eryri National Park Authority has concluded the award stage of a public procurement process titled "Cartrefu, Ardudwy: commission to deliver community archaeology survey and excavation of derelict rural cottages in Ardudwy," situated within the historic landscape of the Eryri National Park. Sheffield University has been awarded the contract, which was signed on 30th July 2024, and is valued at £49,671. This project is set to initiate community archaeology surveys and excavations, focusing on post-medieval cottages, with key dates including the completion of the project by June 2025. The tender was issued under the "services" category and classified under preservation services of historical sites and buildings, with procurement being conducted via an open method.

This initiative represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialised in archaeology, heritage preservation, and community engagement. Companies with experience in conducting archaeological work in collaboration with community volunteers and those who are equipped to engage Welsh-speaking participants are particularly well-suited for similar future projects. Interested businesses can leverage such procurement to enhance their portfolios, establish key partnerships, and access further opportunities within the public sector, thus fostering significant business growth in specialised fields of archaeology and community-driven projects.
