The two local authorities are committed to a joint approach to advocacy that: Promotes a strong, positive image of Independent Professional Advocacy throughout the Region to encourage people's access. Provides easy access to Independent Professional Advocacy and other forms of advocacy and support. Provides high quality advocacy and IPA to anyone who needs it without delay. It is intended that: Cardiff Council will issue two contracts for Independent Professional Advocacy services in Cardiff, one for older adults aged 55 and over including community and residential care home advocacy, adults with a Physical & Sensory Impairment and those with Mental Ill-health and/or Substance Misuse and one for adults aged 18 and over living with learning disabilities.
