## Summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is in the planning stage of launching a tender for the main construction contract for the Grand Pavilion Porthcawl. The tender is categorised under "Construction work" with a focus on works pertaining to art and cultural buildings in Bridgend. The procurement process will either be through a Further Competition under the SEWSCAPS 4 Framework Agreement or by open advertisement on Sell2Wales. Important dates include the online briefing on 14th October 2024 and a site visit on 16th October 2024. The Invitation to Tender (ITT) document suite is expected to be published in early November 2024, with tender returns due by late December 2024 or early January 2025, and the contract award anticipated by late January 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in heritage works, building refurbishments, and large-scale construction projects. It is particularly suited for main contractors experienced in transformative schemes and conservation efforts. The project aims to revitalise the Grand Pavilion, supporting the local economy by increasing footfall to the seafront and providing new community spaces. The estimated project value ranges from £15m to £20m, offering substantial growth potential for construction firms capable of delivering complex, high-value projects. Contractors that are registered and verified on Constructionline will have a competitive advantage in the evaluation process.
