## Summary

Natural Resources Wales, located in Cardiff, has concluded a comprehensive procurement process for the "Land Hazards – Maintenance, Repair & Inspection Framework 2025". This project is in the award stage, with contracts signed in July and August 2025, focusing on environmental protection within South Wales. The framework involves routine maintenance, civils works, and inspections of various land hazard sites, including colliery tips, quarry tips, and landslips. It follows an open procurement method underlining its commitment to transparency and competitiveness in public procurement. The procurement stage has moved from planning in November 2024 to tendering in February 2025 and culminated in awarding, with contracts actively executed since mid-2025.

This tender provides extensive opportunities for businesses specializing in construction and environmental management to significantly expand their portfolios. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly favoured, as evidenced by successful bids from several SMEs such as G.J. Price Contracting and Jim Davies Civil Engineering Ltd. The investment, with each lot averaging a contract value of £4.5 million, illustrates significant financial engagement. Businesses proficient in maintenance, civil engineering, and environmental consultancy should leverage these opportunities to secure substantial growth, engaging in a framework agreement promising a structured and potentially renewable engagement over several years.
