## Summary

The National Library of Wales, located in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, has completed the procurement process for the supply and installation of book scanners for their library digitisation project. This procurement process, initiated as a tender and reaching the award stage on 21st November 2024, falls under the "goods" category, specifically focusing on office and computing machinery, equipment and supplies. The awarded contract, following an open procurement method, was signed on 21st November 2024, with Lensart Limited, based in Swindon, selected as the successful supplier. The project includes the delivery, installation, and commissioning of high-quality book scanning equipment on-site at the National Library of Wales and a support contract for at least three years.

This procurement offers significant business growth opportunities, especially for firms specialising in digital imaging, scanners, and library automation equipment. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with capabilities in providing high-quality book scanning solutions can benefit from such contracts, enhancing their portfolio and market presence. Companies with expertise in offering robust after-sales support and maintenance could also be well-positioned to compete in similar tenders. The inclusion of delivering, commissioning, and maintaining complex equipment for national institutions further underscores the importance of comprehensive service offerings in winning such contracts.
