## Summary

Prifysgol Bangor / Bangor University has concluded a public procurement process for the "Supply of Bioreactors" as part of its Centre of Environmental Biotechnology+ project. This initiative aims to boost the North Wales regional economy by implementing environmentally friendly microbial culture scale-up facilities. The procurement process, completed as of 8th April 2025, employed an open procedure and was focused on acquiring one large bioreactor with a steam generator and two smaller bioreactors. The delivery location for the bioreactors is Henfaes Farm in Abergwyngregyn, North Wales. The successful award for the large bioreactor went to Infors UK Ltd, with a contract valued at £647,193, signed on 7th April 2025.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly SMEs, in the biotechnology and industrial processes sectors. Companies with expertise in producing advanced bioreactors can benefit from such initiatives, which promote low carbon and sustainable technologies. Additionally, the existence of options for Bangor University to purchase associated consumables and additional services, such as warranties and maintenance agreements, could offer extended business engagements. Businesses that can meet these criteria and offer high-quality, cost-effective bioreactor solutions are well-positioned to compete in similar future tenders.
