## Summary

The Welsh Government is initiating a procurement process to find an appropriate fund administrator to manage the establishment and operation of a fund supporting disabled candidates standing for election in Wales. The procurement is currently in the Planning stage as of 2 December 2024. The contract will span two electoral cycles: the Senedd election in May 2026 and local government election in May 2027. The fund, valued up to GBP 75,000, will cover the additional costs disabled candidates incur while seeking election, with the successful bidder responsible for preparation, awareness-raising, and managing the application process. The buying organisation, Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government, is based in Cardiff, and the procurement falls under the services category, specifically equal opportunities consultancy services.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in fund management, consultancy services, and those experienced in promoting equal opportunities. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in managing similar funds or support services, particularly in promoting and aiding applicants through advisory services. By securing this contract, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to social inclusion and equal opportunities, potentially enhancing their reputation and opening doors to further public sector contracts. The successful supplier will not only manage the fund but play a crucial role in shaping its impact, ensuring the fund meets the needs of disabled candidates effectively.
