## Summary

Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales is in the planning stage of a procurement process for the "Specialist International Transport of Fine Arts." This tender falls under the services category, specifically road and air transport services, and involves the intricate logistics of transporting fine art pieces. The procurement will involve artworks from multiple museums, galleries, and private collections across Wales, Scotland, England, France, and the USA, with the majority currently situated in Wales. Key dates include the commencement of the competitive tender exercise early in 2025, with exhibitions planned throughout 2026 and 2027 at locations such as the National Museum of Wales, the National Art Gallery in Scotland, and sites in the USA. Companies are urged to review the "General Transport Conditions" specified under the Government Indemnity Scheme 1 as per the National Heritage Act 1980, section 16, before expressing interest.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in fine art transportation services to expand their portfolios and gain exposure through high-profile exhibitions. Companies that are well-suited to compete will have substantial experience in international logistics, a deep understanding of compliance with transport conditions for delicate items, and a proven track record in handling valuable artefacts. Successful participation could lead to long-term associations with prestigious museums and galleries, offering considerable potential for business growth and industry reputation enhancement.
