Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC), in partnership with the Henry Tudor Trust (an independent charity) (the HTT) are seeking a professional design/interpretation company to work with both parties to deliver a design and build contract as part of a new Henry Tudor Centre in Pembroke.The project aims to create an interactive family discovery centre telling the story of Pembroke's most famous son, Henry VII (Henry Tudor), who was born within a stone's throw of the building at Pembroke Castle.This is a two-stage design and build contract, the first stage (preconstruction services agreement) involving preparing an interpretation and front of house plan/designs to RIBA 4. Following client signoff of the RIBA 4 design work, the second stage of the contract will take the plans through to completion RIBA 7.We are seeking an interpretive approach which tells a historically sound story, including different perspectives, particularly the Welsh perspective. Equally, an approach which is highly engaging, entertaining and fun for all ages, as a history-based visitor attraction as opposed to a museum. Note there will be no authentic collections in the exhibition. A strong, compelling narrative, supported by cutting-edge AV and mechanical interactive elements is envisaged. An approach which is multisensory and considers and caters for the different ways that different people like to learn and engage with exhibition content.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
