## Summary

The Welsh Government, located in Cardiff, is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process for a project titled "Travel For All User Research." This service falls under the industry category of research and development services and related consultancy services. This initiative seeks to commission a research project aimed at evaluating the accessibility of different travel modes across Wales to inform the Welsh Government’s Travel for All approach. The process is initiated as a tender, using a Quick Quotes method, and prospective suppliers are encouraged to express their interest. Buyers can notify their interest via the Sell2Wales website, with an estimated contract value of £50,000. The procurement process is overseen by the Welsh Government's Corporate Procurement Services.

This tender offers a strategic opportunity for research businesses, particularly those with expertise in diversity and accessibility studies. Companies with experience in deploying mixed methods research, including focus groups and mystery shopper activities, are well-suited to bid for this project. Additionally, businesses with existing relationships with advocacy groups may have an edge due to the need for safeguarding procedures. Engaging in this project could not only bolster a company's portfolio in governmental research services but also provide invaluable data analytics contributions that may shape future Welsh Government transport policies.

## Notice

The Welsh Government wishes to commission a research project to assess the accessibility of different travel modes across Wales, and how these can be addressed to achieve the objectives of the Welsh Government's travel for all approach.Evidence from this research will act as a baseline and inform future policy development in relation to the Travel for All approach outlined above. It is anticipated that in order to answer the research questions set out above, a mixed methods approach will be required. This will include the use of focus groups, mystery shopper activities and site visits. These will be done with members from a range of diversity groups including but not limited to ethnicity, disability, neurodivergence, age, sex, gender and social economic status.Due to the nature of this work, specific safeguarding procedures will need to be in place to protect participants from harm whilst carrying out sample journeys in the mystery shopper activity as well as during the focus groups. Relationships with advocacy groups to assist with this are strongly advised. The estimated contract value for this is PS50,000 (excl VAT).NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=156598.
