## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, is reinstating the Mental Health Fast Track Pathway with the aim of providing rapid mental health assessments and support for urgent cases. Located in Cardiff, this public contract falls under the "Health" industry category and governs services across the Central, Western, and Eastern Vale clusters, targeting patients around Barry, UKL22. The process is at the award stage as of 15th December 2025, following a limited procurement method without prior publication, and complying with the Provider Selection Regime Wales (PSR Wales). The notice serves as an intention to award, marking the start of a standstill period where providers can make representations until 24th December 2025.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialised in mental health services, especially those with a capability for rapid assessment and personalised patient care. Small and medium-sized enterprises like Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan, successful in operating the Fast Track Pathway since 2021, are well-suited to compete, given their established operational readiness, compliance with NHS governance standards, and demonstrated efficiency in service delivery. The contract, valued at £113,800, offers a two-year engagement commencing from 1 January 2026, to improve community-based mental health support and optimise patient outcomes by handling referrals within 24 hours and integrating social prescribing for holistic care.
