## Summary

Swansea University is inviting tenders for an open procurement process to obtain equipment essential for prototyping pilot-scale Prussian White cathode synthesis. The procurement, under the category of goods, falls within the laboratory and precision equipment industry, specifically targeting filtering apparatus. This tender covers the acquisition of both a filter-dryer unit and a temperature control unit along with accessories. The procurement stage is currently at the tender phase, and interested parties must register their interest on Sell2Wales and further access tender documentation via eTenderwales. Key dates include a submission deadline on 13th January 2026, while awards will be announced by 30th January 2026. The equipment delivery will be made to the Bay Campus of Swansea University, located in Swansea.

This tender provides significant business growth potential, particularly for firms specialising in laboratory equipment and machinery. Companies capable of providing high-quality filtering and control units under vacuum conditions or inert atmospheres will find this opportunity fitting. Due to the open nature of the procurement method, businesses of all sizes that can deliver innovative and efficient solutions will have a chance to compete. With regards to the industry's focus and the scale of production required, businesses experienced in advanced battery technology and precision equipment manufacturing are well-suited to participate. This offers suppliers a chance to collaborate with a major research institution like Swansea University, enhancing their reputation and expanding their portfolio in the public law sector.

## Notice

The Nutsche filter-dryer will enable us to scale Prussian White cathode active materials synthesis for sodium-ion batteries from lab-scale to kilo-scale pilot production, improving efficiency and validating commercial feasibility. We've scaled from ~35g to ~200g, but current centrifugation is time-consuming and degrades material quality through air exposure. The Agitated Nutsche Filter-Dryer shall enable solid-liquid phase separation as well as washing and drying of powdered product under inert atmosphere or vacuum conditions. The equipment is to be delivered at Bay Campus. This requirement is split into 2 Lots:Lot 1 - Filter-Dryer UnitLot 2 - Temperature Control Unit & AccessoriesNOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
