## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, is overseeing the procurement process for the insourcing of a fully staffed mobile CT unit, under the Provider Selection Regime Wales regulations. The contract, valued at 352,170 GBP, will be awarded to Diagnostic Healthcare Ltd, a large supplier based in Manchester, UK. The service, which includes a GE Revolution Evo 160-slice CT scanner and staffing by two HCPC-registered CT Radiographers, is intended to operate seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. This award is marked by an "intention to award" notice without prior competition, with a standstill period for representations ending on 5th February 2026. The procurement falls under the health industry category and will be delivered in the UKL22 region, with an initial service term from 9th February 2026 to 8th April 2026, potentially extending to 8th July 2026.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in medical imaging and diagnostic healthcare services to expand their footprint within Wales, meeting urgent diagnostic capacity demands. Businesses specialising in mobile medical equipment and healthcare staffing, particularly those equipped to deliver high-risk diagnostic imaging with robust clinical governance, are well-suited to compete. This process highlights the growing demand for innovative healthcare delivery solutions, offering scopes for business growth for entities that can adhere to the technical and operational standards in a time-sensitive environment. While this particular contract is intended for Diagnostic Healthcare Ltd, understanding the accreditation and service delivery requirements is beneficial for other providers aiming to participate in future tenders within the health sector.
