## Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has completed a procurement process for the "Laundry Plant Upgrade" project, aimed at transforming the existing Infected wash system to enhance processing capabilities for both Infected and Classified products. This upgrade was carried out under a limited procurement method without a prior call for competition, primarily due to the specialised nature of the equipment and the urgency of maintaining essential services. The contract was awarded to Jensen Group, with a total value of £1.5 million, and the procurement stage reached completion on 20 June 2016. The project is classified under the health industry category, and will primarily serve the region of Glasgow.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in the healthcare equipment and machinery sectors, particularly those that specialise in commercial laundry systems. Companies with expertise in designing, supplying, or maintaining laundry technology, as well as those experienced in high-value procurements for public health authorities, may find this an ideal opportunity to expand their market presence. With the procurement being conducted under specific grounds that prevent competitive bidding, businesses that can demonstrate technical ability and reliability are in a strong position to engage with similar future projects.
