## Summary

The University of Edinburgh is conducting a procurement process for the "Asbetsos Consultancy Framework," focusing on asbestos consultancy services across various geographical lots. The tender, which is currently in the "active" stage with a due date of 28th September 2016, involves a selective procurement method consisting of a two-stage Restricted Procedure. This process will shortlist six bidders for each lot, allowing them to provide a comprehensive range of asbestos analytical and surveying services across the university's substantial estate in Edinburgh, which encompasses around 750 buildings and supports over 29,000 students and 7,500 staff.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialised in environmental consulting, particularly those with expertise in asbestos management and analysis. Companies capable of delivering high-quality surveying and analytical services, especially those holding relevant UKAS (or equivalent) accreditations, will be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, businesses that can demonstrate a proactive approach to service improvement and have the necessary resources to provide services 24/7 will likely find this procurement exceptionally beneficial for growth within the education sector.
